Beet Plato de Egipto have flattened globular roots, dense flesh, good flavor and blood red pigmentation. This plant can withstand high moisture conditions and is quick to mature. The flattened, smooth roots grow to up to 1.5–2 inches long and 3 inches wide. The plant also produces a bounty of delicious leaves to incorporate in a cool season salad.
