Lavender herbs are commonly grown as an ornamental plant. Popular for its toothed grey-green leaves and colorful (violet-blue) and strongly aromatic fragrance, it appears in spikes during mid to late summer. It also has the ability to survive with low water consumption. These sweet aromatic sub-shrubs are popular in herb gardens as well as in the perennial borders. And they tend to grow up to the height of 60 – 80 cm. With property such as flowering well into the winter season, they are perfect for pots and borders.

The flowers are pinkish-purple (lavender-coloured), produced on spikes 2–8 cm (0.79–3.15 in) long at the top of slender, leafless stems 10–30 cm (3.9–11.8 in) long.
