Habak Desert Mint is a mint variety native to northeastern Africa with characteristic long spikes and tiny blue flowers. It grows wherever water is abundantly available either near or at the surface of the ground. The plant is an aromatic shrub with jagged-edged leaves that grow opposite each other. Its flower petals are fused together having heady smell fills the air with a distinctly beautiful scent. Habak Desert Mint is botanically classified as Mentha longifolia and belongs to the Lamiaceae or mint family. Its Latin name, longifolia, refers to the plant’s unusually long leaves. Habek mint is also commonly known as Wild mint, Bible mint, or Horse mint.
