Russelia equisetiformis, commonly known as the Firecracker Plant or Coral Plant, is a deciduous, branching subshrub with rush-like, erect, and pendent mid-green stems. The elliptic, scale-like leaves, which reach up to 1.5cm in length, fall early. Tubular scarlet flowers, up to 3cm long, are produced in pendent cymes from spring to autumn.
